Ninety years ago in Troy, North Carolina, A. Leon Capel ventured into a business that would become America's oldest and largest importer and manufacturer of area rugs. In 1917, after the invention of the tractor, he fashioned the raw material from his Plowline company into braids and sewed them into spirals to make reversible braided rugs. Ninety years later Capel offers a large variety of hand made and machine woven rugs ranging from traditional orientals to casual and contemporary styles in addition to their original braided rugs. Capel also has a line of outdoor rugs for your patio or beside your pool.
